RESULTS: World Cheese Awards 2019

We are excited to share the news that at our final show for the year we have received a Bronze award for our Certified 100% Grass-Fed Cheddar at the World Cheese Awards held in Bergamo. A new product this year, it is great to see this cheese win an award. We are sure that the Pasture Fed Livestock Association and A Greener World, who are our certifying bodies in the UK and USA respectively, will be as thrilled as we are with this result!

Competition time!!

Competition time!!

To celebrate the final week of Organic September we are offering one lucky person the chance to win a whole case of our Organic 100% Grass-Fed Mature Cheddar and a Lye Cross Farm cool bag. This Cheddar is rich and buttery, and is handmade with milk from 100% grass-fed cows reared without the use of antibiotics.

Full Terms and Conditions:
  1. Entrants must be UK mainland residents.
  2. The minimum age to enter is 16 years.
  3. Only one entry will be accepted per person per platform.
  4. Competition closes 11:59pm BST on Monday 30th September.
  5. The winner will be drawn at random from all the correct entries, unless another method of judging is specified on the competition page.
  6. The winner will be contacted personally after the closing date.
  7. Prize winners must be prepared to take part in post-competition publicity.

RESULTS: Global Cheese Awards 2019

 

We are pleased to share that we have picked up 2 a

wards for our Vintage Cheddar at this year’s Global Cheese Awards at Frome Agricultural Show. We were awarded Gold in the Somerset Cheddar category and Bronze in the Vintage Farmhouse Cheddar category. We’re now keeping our fingers crossed for the final show of the year!

We are pleased to share that we’ve had a fantastic show at the South West Cheese Awards this year. Held at the Mid Somerset Show, we were awarded four silver prizes and one gold prize. Fingers crossed that we can repeat our success next time!

RESULTS: International Cheese Awards 2019

Great news from the International Cheese Awards at
Nantwich this year! We are pleased to share that we have won two awards at this year’s show – Silver for our Farmhouse Vintage Cheddar and Bronze for our Mild Cheddar.

 

Despite the wet weather and the unfortunate circumstances that led to most of the show being cancelled, we had a great day talking to those that braved the rain! We made the most of this opportunity to talk to the show visitors about our Mild Mini Cheddar Sticks and our Certified 100% Grass-Fed Cheddar, both of which received a fantastic reception!

RESULTS: British Cheese Awards 2019

Here at Lye Cross Farm we are really happy to share the news that we have had a fantastic start to our 2019 awards season.

At this year’s British Cheese Awards at the Bath & West we collected a total of four awards, 1 Silver and 3 bronze, and even a prize for our brand new product Lye Cross Farm Mild Mini Cheddar Sticks!

Fingers crossed that we can carry our success through the rest of the year and continue to collect awards!

NOW AVAILABLE: Certified 100% Grass-Fed Organic Sharp Cheddar

Lye Cross Farm are proud to announce the launch of our new cheese – Certified 100% Grass-Fed Organic Sharp Cheddar.

Handcrafted using the same traditional techniques as other Lye Cross Farm cheeses, this Cheddar is produced using organic milk from certified 100% grass-fed cows. The Cheddar has a rich buttery flavour and strong yellow colour, owing to the beta-carotene in the cows’ 100% grass diet.

In a first for the UK, the milk comes from cows that have been ‘certified grass-fed’ by A Greener World and are also ‘Animal Welfare approved’ (AGW), which means that their diet consists entirely of grass and forage, free from any artificial fertilisers and pesticides. The cattle are also free to roam on natural pasture land and lead peaceful, happy lives and often in family groups. They require very little veterinary attention, are not treated with antibiotics, and are rBST and rBGH free.

With the growing disconnect of consumers from the source of their food and the plethora of misleading labels, Lye Cross Farm found it essential to have third-party validation demonstrating their exceptional practices to a market hungry for truthful information about their food.

This product is certified by A Greener World and the Pasture-Fed Livestock Association.

We are now one of a community of Export Champions and our aim is encourage other companies to develop their international sales via peer-to-peer learning. This is an excellent opportunity for us and we look forward to being able to share our knowledge and expertise with those that will benefit from it most.
