‘HIGHLY COMMENDED’ FOR THE CALF REARER OF THE YEAR AWARD!

Last Thursday, Katy and the team from Regilbury Farm were invited to the National Youngstock Conference in Exeter. The conference aims to promote best practice and facilitate the exchange of ideas relevant to all stages of youngstock rearing.

The invitation came as a result of Katy and the team being one of three finalists out of 70 applicants for the Calf Rearer of the Year Award, ending up with ‘Highly Commended’.

This award not only demonstrates the hard work from the group, but also the dedication they show every day to look after all of their Cows and Calves to the highest standards possible!

Well done to everybody at Regilbury Farm for this amazing achievement, we love you almost as much as your happy Cows and Calves do!

Join us at Tout’s Fest next Friday!

On Friday 26th July, we will once again be in attendance at Tout’s Fest! The event is being held at The Orchard, Tout’s Cleeve, BS49 4NR.

This year marks the third instalment of the event, building on the great success of previous years. This FREE to attend event is bigger and better than ever before, and is perfect for friends and families to sample delicious food and drinks, listen to local music, or have a drink from the outside bar!

At our Lye Cross Farm stool, you’ll be able to find the following from our Lye Cross Farm Conventional range:

  • Mild Cheddar
  • Mature Cheddar
  • Vintage Cheddar
  • Mature Grated Cheddar
  • Butter

We have some great cheese to compliment other delights on offer during the Fest!

The event is running from 12pm – 4pm so mark it in your calendars and make sure you don’t miss out!

Farmhouse Mature Cheddar Wins Bronze!

We are delighted to share the news that our Lye Cross Farm Farmhouse Mature Cheddar Cheese won Bronze at the International Cheese & Dairy Awards 2024.

The criteria for this award included:

  • The cheese needs to be matured for more than 12 months.
  • A percentage of the milk used in the manufacture process must be produced at the exhibitor’s own farm and from their own herd.
  • Must have West Country Farmhouse Cheddar PDO accreditation.

We are pleased and grateful to receive this award, in what was a highly competitive category, giving you more reason to love our cheese!

A Statement from Alvis Brothers Ltd.

Today, Alvis Brothers Ltd pleaded guilty to an offence for a discharge into the Congresbury Yeo tributary on 28th September 2020.

The Company offers its sincere apologies to the Environment Agency and those members of the public who have been affected. Its apologies have also been expressed to the Court.

The offence in question arose as the consequence of a blocked drain backing up and escaping through a damaged manhole eight feet below ground level before finding its way underground into a storm water drain.

The Company has undertaken a significant amount of work to rectify and replace older drains to which the prosecution relates.

We are proud to be a significant employer in Somerset and are committed to being a responsible corporate citizen in the region.
