Here’s to more years!

Inspired by the work conducted by Millbrook Dairy and their Tuk-Tuk challenge from Bideford to the Orkney Islands, we at Lye Cross Farm have been inspirited to come up with an idea to raise money for this brilliant charity.

How it works:

12 members of staff have been randomly allocated to one of the bakers from the Great British Bake Off, and once their assigned baker has been voted off the show, they have to bring in cake the following Monday for everybody to enjoy😋

Each individual cake/slice is then purchased by other members of our team, with all proceeds being donated to BBC Children in Need.

We’ve had some great bakes so far, from zesty lemon drizzle cake, to comforting chocolate brownies. We cannot wait to see what else is in store!

Next Friday we are really looking forward to welcoming Millbrook Dairy on site as part of their journey from Bideford to the Orkney Islands in their cheese wedge crowned Tuk-Tuk! The purpose of this 1600-mile trip is to raise money for BBC Children in Need, a superb cause, whilst stopping 29 times along the way. We are fortunate enough to be one of those stops and cannot wait to greet David, Kevin and all of the other members of the team involved, where they will be tasting some of our Lye Cross Farm Cheddar Cheese. Thank you so much to everyone that stopped by at Tout’s Fest last Friday! The highly successful event hosted by Tout’s saw a turnout of over 2000 people, and we loved seeing every single one of you!

A big thank you goes out to Tout’s, we cannot wait to be part of it again!

Last Thursday, Katy and the team from Regilbury Farm were invited to the National Youngstock Conference in Exeter. The conference aims to promote best practice and facilitate the exchange of ideas relevant to all stages of youngstock rearing.

The invitation came as a result of Katy and the team being one of three finalists out of 70 applicants for the Calf Rearer of the Year Award, ending up with ‘Highly Commended’.

This award not only demonstrates the hard work from the group, but also the dedication they show every day to look after all of their Cows and Calves to the highest standards possible!

Well done to everybody at Regilbury Farm for this amazing achievement, we love you almost as much as your happy Cows and Calves do!
